Anything worth buying is worth taking care of. You bought a CORE silicone ring to suit your taste – congratulations on owning the best of style and practicality all rolled into one. So now it’s a good few months later and you’ve potentially found that your CORE ring is a ‘little bent out of shape’ and not looking as happy and healthy as the day you bought it.
Don’t even give it second thought: here’s how to get your CORE ring back in shape and ready for action. If your CORE ring has got slightly bigger that when you originally purchased it, here’s how to return it to its original condition:
- Bring a pot or pan of water to the boil and place the stretched CORE ring in the boiling water (±100 °C).
- Carefully remove the boiled ring with tongs or a fork, taking care not to burn your fingers.
- Place the ring in ice cold water for 30 seconds.
If you follow the above steps carefully, your CORE silicone ring will return to its original size.
To maintain the integrity and shape of your CORE silicone ring, take care when removing the ring from your finger. Rather slide the ring off as opposed to pulling at it and stretching it while you take it off. Remember that your CORE silicone ring can withstand 16kg of pressure before safely snapping away, so sliding it off is just a way to ensure it retains its original size for longer, and does not have an impact on its functionality and longevity.
If you are worried that boiling your CORE silicone ring will damage it, here’s the good news: silicone is known for its excellent heat-resistance. Silicone has a low thermal conductivity, which means that it transfers heat at a low rate compared to other materials. This low thermal conductivity can also be described as high thermal (heat) resistance. It also has ability to maintain its properties and structure over a wide temperature range and provides good resistance to cold temperatures.
We wish you a long and happy relationship… with your CORE silicone ring.
